Sublunary
Sublunary addresses the backlash against images altered for print or web. Whether an image has been manipulated or not, it does not capture the whole person. Our personhood—our being—extends beyond our physical appearance and is more closely defined by how we experience the world and what impact we have on it. “Being” is a verb as well as a noun; our lives are an action, not a still life painting. Sublunary uses text and manipulated "selfies" to explore multiple layers of identity.
